Washington DC day one

Well, We're here in Washington D.C. I'm amazed at how green it is here. It's been amazing to see the monuments that I've just grown to know in movies and pictures. They look just like the pictures...who would have thought. It's been a fun trip so far, and we still have 4 more days...wahoo :)

We started out the day at the D.C. museum of natural history. It's pretty cool. They have this big elephant in the front instead of a T-Rex like the New York museum. Nothing came to life while we were there. That was a bummer :( It was still a pretty cool museum though.
Brian studying a sign on ice men.A coffin made by a guy in Ghana.... Heather, I threw this one in for you.
Brian in front of a weird elk looking thing.
A big sloth. I've never really liked sloths, and now I really, really don't like them.
Look at how much taller the bear is than Brian.Stuffed Tiger
I found what I want for Christmas this year...the Hope Diamond. It's beautiful.
We also were able to get in the air and space museum today. It was really cool to see all the planes and spaceships. One of my favorite parts was seeing the telescopes and everything used by early scientistHere I am standing in front of one of Amelia Earhart's planes

I went to DC when I was in Jr High and didn't really appreciate all the history there is there. Glad you are older and can appreciate the old coffins, the planes and the bears! And once again, it is soooo green I love it!
