We went to see the White House today. It's a beautiful building and I can't believe how big the property really is.

We'll try to get pictures of us together tomorrow when we go on a tour of D.C. with the conference group, but for now, it's pictures one at a time.

Since I'm in D.C. for banking business, I figured it would only be appropriate to get my picture taken in front of the department of the treasury. Brian and I both thought the building looked familiar from a distance, so we walked up to see what it was. When we got close, I realized that it's the building on the back of our money. I think I'll frame this one and put it in my office ;)

We took a few minutes and went to the National Aquarium. It wasn't the best aquarium that we've been to, but they did have these cool baby alligators.

This puffer fish really seemed to want its picture taken. Brian kept trying to take pictures of the fish behind it, but it kept swimming into the picture.

Cool turtle

We moved over to the hotel where my conference is being held at. Our room has an awesome view. You can see from the picture below that we can kind of make out the Washington Monument.

The view of the Potomac River from our room.

PS...Good news. Earlier today I was really regretting not bringing any genealogy work with me after I found out that the national archives has an extensive genealogy library. Well, I was just watching the local evening news, and the national archives are going to release their whole library online on Memorial Day. I don't feel so bad now :)
