With Sunday being the day of rest, we didn't do much on our second day of vacation other than go to a really cool ward in Carlsbad. In all the wards I've visited, this was the first time someone has come up to us and asked if we were new or just visiting. After we introduced ourselves, he realized that we had the same last name as someone in his family tree, so he really wanted to go over our genealogy. We didn't ever get a chance to do that, but it was a great ward anyway. After church, we just hung around our campsite. We actually camped on the beach in Carlsbad. It was a beautiful view, and I loved waking up to the sound of the ocean every morning.
Here Brian and I pose just at the edge of our campsite, in front of an amazing sunset.

Brian cooking our awesome Sunday dinner of .... Hot Dogs!!!

None of us could figure out what this bug was because it was flying too fast. The camera could actually take a picture fast enough for us to discover that it's a moth. Cool moth.

Okay, these pictures weren't taken on Sunday. They were actually Monday morning, but I'll have enough other pictures for Monday that I'll add these in today. Monday morning, Brian was looking at the ocean and wondering why a whole bunch of seagulls were floating in one area. It turns out a few dolphins were fishing out there. You'll probably have to enlarge the pictures to see the dolphins at all, but what a fun sight to wake up to.

Wonderful pictures. I love campgrounds, but usually I think of mountains and forests. What a fantastic view!!!!! Thanks for sharing!
Looks like you guys are living the good life! Love Cali, and I miss the West. How's SLC treating you these days? We like Columbus, especially now that spring has sprung. Being married is a great adventure, as is medical school. Hope all is well!
ohhh I how I love watching the sun set on the ocean and just watching it disappear. Growing up with the mountains around you never get to just watch it go and go and go. So cool pictures!!
Justin- SLC is great, but we keep trying to find a way to move back to Lehi. Great to see medical school and marriage are treating you well. Too bad my flight to DC doesn't have a layover in Ohio. We'd come have lunch or something.
Kinz- I was amazed how fast the sun actually set once it got close to the ocean. It started going down and in about 10 minutes it was gone. Crazy!!
Wow, your pics look stunning. And make me miss the west. Lucky us that blogger makes it easier to keep track of cousins--now just to berate Justin for not sharing the link. Grrr.
Oh, don't berate Justin too much. I just found his blog a couple days ago from your blog, and so he just learned about mine. If anything, it's my fault for not posting comments on your blog. Oops, my bad.
