Ute Basketball

Brian's boss gave him two tickets to the Utah basketball game against Oregon. We had tons of fun, and to make it better, Utah won!!! Afterward, Brian took me to Red Robin for dinner. Between finals coming up and a discouraging medical morning, it was nice to take a few hours to relax and have fun. Here are a couple pictures. They aren't great because we took our cheap camera, but hey, at least we took pictures, right?

Since you might be wondering what I mean by a rough medical morning, I promise nothing is wrong. I just was reminded that Grave's disease isn't just a treat once and you're back to normal. I went into a new endocrinologist today. She's really a great doctor. Very friendly and enthusiastic. It looks like my thyroid levels are a little high again, so we're lowering my dose of medicine. What that means is monthly blood tests again until we find the right dose. No big deal, just discouraging. Also, with the history of diabetes in my family, the fact that I have been diagnosed with borderline diabetes, and the fact that I already have one endocrine (? right word?) disease, she wants me to test my blood sugar, so she gave me a monitor. Yeah, more needles, but at least they don't bother me anymore. She doesn't think that I'm even borderline diabetic anymore so that's great. But if I ever gain some extra weight, I will be diabetic. I also need to start an exercise program, so no more casual once in a while exercising. Exercise is the biggest factor in preventing diabetes, even bigger than diet. I really am glad that this doctor is so enthusiastic about keeping me healthy. I can't complain too much because it was so frustrating to have doctor after doctor refuse to monitor my blood sugar situation because I wasn't really diabetic. It's starting to get a bit easier to see the good in the visit, it just was a discouraging morning.
