Yellowstone Day 1

So I'm going to start out by apologizing. I know. There are a ton of pictures. I promise these are only my favorites and I really trimmed the file down a lot. We had a great time in Yellowstone over Labor Day weekend. The weather was wonderful. Brian and I drove the Jeep with the top down all day on Friday. When I got home that night, I saw why Mary kept offering me sunscreen. I was bright red. I guess that just because the temperature isn't high, doesn't mean you still can't get sunburnt. We saw quite a bit of wildlife, including Coyotes, Grizzly Bear, and Wolves. We also got to see a few geysers go off that I've never seen before. It was so much fun to spend time with Brian's family. All of us were up there for this trip. We were a big group. 23 people in 2 Jeeps, 3 Suburbans, and 1 Saab. :) Once, when Brian and I stopped to eat at the Canyon diner, the lady taking our debit card said, "Allen huh? There's been a lot of you guys up here this week. We had a bunch here yesterday too." We had all eaten at the diner the day before, and she must have been the one to take our ticket that day as well.
This coyote was running around the trail out to Riverside geyser. He seems to be wishing all the people would leave him alone.
Okay, this is a game. It's kind've like Where's Waldo, but instead of Waldo you're looking for the coyote. I promise he's in there. It really makes you see why coyotes are colored the way they are. They blend right in.

All of our nieces and nephews in front of Riverside Geyser
Daisy Geyser. After this geyser goes off, it sounds just like a train leaving a train station. If you ever get a chance to see it, be really quiet afterwards. It's pretty cool.
These two Grizzly Bear crossed the road in front of our caravan. We were lucky to see them. Once they were a little ways into the forest, you couldn't see them at all.

I love the look on this one's face. She almost seems to be smiling (it's the smaller of the two, so I'm assuming it's a she)

Brian's mom with Jen's daughter.
I love my husband!!! :)
My niece jumped up here and really wanted her picture taken. We had our camera nice and handy, and got this cute shot of her.
This coyote was taking advantage of the sidewalk by fishing bridge.
My nephew taking a picture of the buffalo
We were a little worried this guy was going to follow us the whole way home.

I didn't know you went there recently! I heard a funny story about looking for animals from a friend. They stopped the car...jumped out...pointed to the mountains...several cars stopped and they were playing a joke and didn't see anything. Shows that we are all rubber neckers! Love the little bears.

LOL. We had that happen every time our caravan stopped along the road for any reason. We had bunches of cars slowing down and asking what we saw. We kept joking about getting a sign that said "we don't see anything. We're all together :)"
