Christmas

Well, I'm probably the last blogger to be posting Christmas pictures, but we really had a fun and magical Christmas.  Eric is at a such a fun age and was excited about everything Christmas.  He loved the lights on the house and insisted on turning on the tree lights every morning and wouldn't let me turn them off.  We read the "Santa Caus" book (The Night Before Christmas) several times a day this year.  And every night he asked for the manger song as a lullabye.  The "Santa Train" movie (Polar Express) was watched in our home several times a week, and he still asks for "Santa cookies" (sugar cookies).  Christmas morning, we woke him up bright and early to see what Santa brought.  Yes, I know we could get away with sleeping in, but an early wake up meant an early nap time which made afternoon Christmas events easier.  And, I'll admit it, Brian and I were pretty excited too.  Santa did indeed visit and Eric loved it.   My parents were able to stop by in the morning and share some of the Christmas magic with us.  After a breakfast of waffles and some time to play with his new toys, it was time for a nap, then on to dinner at Brian's parents house.  After the celebrations there, we came back home and had a relaxing evening drinking hot chocolate and watching Polar Express one last time (we hope).

Eric's first gift of the morning, a toy rocket ship.  This was a special request from mommy to Santa because Eric has been carrying around half a plastic Easter egg calling it his rocket ship so I asked Santa to bring him a real one so I didn't feel like the mother handing her kid trash to play with.

Eric loved his Lightning and Mater flashlight/toys (gifts from Grandma/Grandpa and Uncle Dan)

We were surprised to find that with a recent growth spurt, Eric can reach the wheels on a small bike.  Luckily Santa was thinking ahead to spring walks and brought a Lightning bike for Eric to ride while we push the baby in the stroller.

I love when Eric gives the look on the right.  It's one of his classics and we finally got it on camera.

Eric's big gift was a train table.  Yeah for toys that keep him busy enough for mom to get stuff done.

A bike and a train table. You are spoiling him and he's only 2! Has he taken his new big wheels on a spin? Lexi is getting a bike in March. She'll be so excited too!
