In July, Brian and I took a trip to Bryce Canyon with some of the Allen clan. Bill, Jayne, and Emily all ran in the 1/2 marathon. Brian's parents, Kevin, and Mary and the kids all got up early to see them cross the finish line. Brian and I stayed in bed, it was chilly and his arms were cozy. But, we heard from a good source that they did great. Emily even took first place in her division. Yeah Emily!!!!
Our first time staying in one of these. The tepee was surprisingly roomy, warm, and waterproof which we were glad for on our last night of the trip.

One of the most amazing things to do in Bryce is to hike down through the hoodoo's. A few years ago, we found an amazing hike starting at Bryce Point, hiking 1/2 of the peekaboo trail, and coming up Wall Street. It's 4 miles of trekking through hot climbs and steep descents, but it worth the pain and misery for such breathtaking beauty.

Looks like you guys had a great time! How fun to stay in a tepee :)
Did you rent the tipi? We are going to have to fix ours up from our last camping trip when we had a small storm and it nearly blew over. I love ours and it is so nice to stay in!
Bryce Canyon is Beautiful!! I have never been there but now I want to go! I love your pictures. Glad you had fun on your trip.
What's up with all of these fun vacations!!!!! I'm so jealous! What a neat place...definitely on my list of places to go someday.
Bobby, we did rent the tepee. Ruby's Inn has 5-6 set up that you can reserve. It was nice because we had the fun of camping without having to take down a tent.
Erin and Marci, you guys so have to go. It's a pretty inexpensive vacation. Especially if you camp and cook your own food. It's only about a 4-5 hour drive and Ruby's Inn has a good campground with showers. It's one of our favorite quick vacations (you can only spend a couple days there, and that's if you hike. Tha park is only 30 miles long or so).
Ohh, those colors are so vibrant and beautiful. I love the pic of you two at the beginning! Looks like a great trip.
Looks like a lot of fun!
Such fun pictures!!!! I love Utah's red rock. Put the exact same formations and scenery in gray rock and it just wouldn't be the same at all! Fun weekend for you.
I've never been to Bryce Canyon. It's so beautiful!
I've always wanted to go to Bryce Canyon and this is the second post I've seen with pics of it today. Now I really, really want to go.
