My Prayer
Today, my little sister started her journey to Africa. She'll be in Ghana for the next three months teaching English in schools. I'm having a hard time letting her go. She's my only sister, my constant friend, a listening ear, sometimes a pest, but always always my sister. I still remember how excited I was when she was born. I finally had a sister, an ally against the swarm of boys I was around all the time. The drive over to the hospital to meet her couldn't go quick enough, and I loved her from the second I laid eyes on her. Heather, you've been in my thoughts and prayers all day today. As I was driving home with my i-pod on shuffle, Bring Him Home from Les Miz started playing. Tonight, the song really hit me hard. This is my prayer tonight...Father, bring her home.

I hope all is well with Heather in Africa, I love that song and never thought of it that way. PS love your memories of your lil sis.
Heather is in Africa! Teaching! Gosh how old is she now!?! I guess I will always remember her as way younger than me. That is so cool that she gets to do this, it will be such an awesome experience for her.
I'll betcha that's why I'm having such a hard time. She'll still a little girl in my mind. This is going to be such an awesome experiance for her though. She'll definatly remember it the rest of her life.
I didn't know she was going to Africa! That is sweet. I love hearing about travel adventures. Is she documenting her trip anywhere online?
She doesn't have much access to the internet. Maybe I'll ask if I can post her occasional e-mail's here.
