Another letter from Africa

This is a letter Heather posted on our family website, so it's just to the Loveridge family...no references to friends. Sorry Kinz, this is a repeat of what you've already read.

Actually, mama told you all of it. Except that we're havign trouble with the language(s). People don't speak english actually. Yeah, it's the national language or whatnot, but nobody can speak it fluently unless they went to school. The words "Speak English" are painted all over the walls of the school. And actually, Sharece and I are teaching at different schools. Our host Father, Ose, is teaching in the Catholic school with me, and Sharece is teaching at the DC (public) school. Our host mother, Helen (I think), teaches in another village. And I might not be able to send any pictures until I get back. The computers aren't really up-to-date, so there aren't any card or USB slots, I don't think. But I do have a camera, and I am taking pictures that I will be able to show you, if not now, then when I get back. Oh, something I haven't said yet, the food here is to die for!! Last night we had Polo and rice (It's not actually Polo, there are a few letters in Twi that aren't on this keyboard, but Polo is hoAgainw it's pronounced). Breakfast is always the same - eggs and toast. They seem to be trying to give us as American type food as they can, but I'd prefer for them not to. I haven't been sick at all yet. Probably from the extra precautions I've been taking by not drinking the water and stuff. But I'm surprised at my lack of illness. My only problem is that I've still got Jet-lag. :( Sharece slept all day yesterday. I was the opposite. I stayed up all night reading, but right now I'm so so so so so tired. Okay, so you all know my phone number. I teach school from 8:00-2:00, which is 2:00 am to 8:00 am for you. So don't call me until after 8 in the morning for you, and please not after 5 pm for you. I love you all, which I think I said already, but really I do! And I'll be able to come back here in a week, probably. I'm still getting used to it. It's hard to become comfotable in a place when everyone is staring at you. But I'll figure it out eventually. I love the children already, and I haven't really even met them yet! Anyway, thanks for all your support! Again, a million times, I love you!<3 Heather
